Thousand Oaks State of the City Address
The City of Thousand Oaks hosted their annual State of the City Address at California Lutheran University. Mayor McCoy addressed the current state of the City of Thousand Oaks, discussed the accomplishments that have been made under his leadership and offered highlights of what is on the horizon for 2020. In his first term as Mayor, he personally officiated and attended multiple vigils and memorials for victims and families of the Borderline tragedy.
“For the last two years, the State of the City has come during community crisis. This year, we are all continuing to deal with the trauma of those events. Throughout, our Chief of Police, Tim Hagel, was a pillar of strength for us. It warmed my heart to see Tim recognized for his service and wish him well in his retirement. I applaud Mayor McCoy for his recognition of Tim as a person, a law enforcement leader and everything in between and his effort to bring the community together when outside forces were trying to cause division.”
